PROGRAMS
SCHOOLHighland Park Christian School offers a free educational opportunity that otherwise would not be available for children in the mountain village. Grades K-9 offer basic curriculum as well as Biblical teaching. Future vision has students training in technical and trade skills that will allow them opportunities in careers such as plumbing, woodworking and cosmetology. |
FEEDING CENTERThe feeding center provides a nutritious breakfast and lunch to the children of Lela Obraje on Monday-Friday throughout the year. For those who would otherwise go hungry, this program enables these little ones to flourish as their spirits, minds, and bodies are being fed. |
BIBLE STUDIESMinistry Director, Sarita Carson, leads a weekly women's Bible study. Currently, there are 45 women who attend on a regular basis. Ministry Assistant, Jorge Camposeco, faithfully teaches a men's Bible study that is regularly attended by 30 men from the surrounding area. Carson and Camposeco not only share the Good News of the Gospel, but encourage spiritual growth through the disciplines of prayer, Bible study, worship, and fellowship. |
MISSION TRIPS
|
GMM hosts several mission teams each year and they are a very important part of the ministry. There are many different opportunities for service, with evangelism being the basis for everything we do as we follow Christ's command to Go and Tell. When we build a house or provide food, healthcare, and other basic needs, people see His love and care. We work mainly with the children and families of La Obraje, but surrounding areas as well.
Many teams go with construction as their focus. There are plenty of ongoing projects at the school and on the homes of the families nearby. Medical teams with doctors, dentists, and support people are also a much needed ministry. The sweet people we serve have ongoing needs because of their living conditions and diet. The teams quickly find that interacting with the children at the school or helping serve them lunch is their favorite part of the trip! There are also groups that take school supplies, shoes, sewing kits, hygiene kits and other needed items. Vacation Bible School for kids, Bible studies for men and women, worship services, prayer with families at the local hospital, and sports camps are ways mission groups have found to use their talents to share the Good News! |
We would love for you to plan a trip with your church or organization. You will come home a changed person; not because of what YOU GIVE, but because of what YOU RECEIVE.
